From the Rock Valley Bee, February 24, 1928:

Harry Hollenbeck Passed Away

Harry Hollenbeck passed away at his home in Rock Valley Tuesday afternoon, following a lingering illness of several months. About two months ago he went to Sioux City and entered a hospital where an operation was performed in hopes his life might be saved. After remaining in the hospital a few weeks he was brought back home, where he continued to fail until the end came and relieved him of his suffering.

Harry was a young man who was very highly thought of by all who knew him. He was kind and generous, and had many friends who sincerely regret his untimely death.

Most of his life was spent in Rock Valley where he grew to manhood. He attended a school for veterinaries and completed the course with honor, and since then had practiced his profession in this vicinity. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the American Legion, and served as commander of the Legion one term in Rock Valley. He leaves his mother, with whom he made his home, and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held Friday at one o’clock at the home and two o’clock at the Methodist Church.
