Funeral held Saturday
Funeral services for William H. Vugteveen, 69, who died unexpectedly at a farm near Doon Wednesday evening, were held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the First Christian Reformed church at Rock Valley. Rev. John Byker officiated. Burial was in the Valley View cemetery.
Mr. Vugteveen was born on Nov. 20, 1894 at New Holland, S. D. He was a retired farmer and lived in Rock Valley the last 15 years. He was married to Alice Van Otterloo on Jan. 22, 1920 at Rock Valley.
Survivors include the widow; his mother, Mrs. Henry Wynia of Rock Valley; one foster son, Fred De Jong of Jenison, Mich.; three sisters, Mrs. Will Wynia, Mrs. Albert Klomp, and Miss. Albertha Vugteveen, all of Rock Valley; and two grandchildren.
