Mrs. Mary Grooters, Mr. ad Mrs. C. DeValois, Messrs. Charles and Benjamin Heemstra attended the funeral of the late Roelof Lubbers, at Orange City, Iowa, on Tuesday, January 16.

Mr. Lubbers died on the 12th of January at the age of 80 years, and several months. On January 17th, 1869, he was united in marriage to Jane Heemstra and to this union six children were born, Mrs. B. Vander Aarde of Orange City, Frederick Lubbers, Sioux Center, Henry Lubbers, John Lubbers, Mrs. Otto Mouw, and Bert Lubbers, Orange City.

A large number of relatives and friends attended the funeral, among them also being Mr. Lubbers of Sheldon, formerly of Boydenite.

Funeral services were held at the First Reformed Church on Monday afternoon, Reverend C. De Young, and Reverend Engelsman assisting. Interment was made in the cemetery at Orange City.
