From the Alton Democrat, January 27, 1928, Hull news:

Pete Anderson was brought to the hospital Monday, having pneumonia. He suffered a stroke and passed away Tuesday afternoon.

From the Sioux County Index (Hull), January 27, 1928:

PETER ANDERSON DIES

Peter Anderson, one of the few rremaining old settlers of this part of the state, died at the Hull Hospital, Tuesday morning, where he had been taken following a stroke of apoplexy Monday.

Mr. Anderson was born in Norway. He went to Chicago, Ill., 63 years ago, and later moved to LaCrosse, Wis. Fifty-two years ago he removed to Hull, Ia., taking up a homestead. He lived there until his retirement in 1913, when he came to Sioux City.

Mr. Anderson had attained the age of eighty-five years, eight months and six days, and is survived by his widow and five grown children, three sons and two daughters, the children being: Conrad, Julia and Oscar Anderson of Sioux City; Elmer Anderson of Hull, Ia., and Mrs. Joseph Hayes, of Manilla, Ia.

The remains were taken to Sioux City in the Nelson-Berger Undertaking establishment where they will be held pending funeral arrangements. Sincere sympathy is extended to the bereaved relatives.

His death certificate has him born May 18, 1843 in Norway; parents Andrew Anderson and Catherine Olson; occupation, mason plasterer; wife Julia Anderson; died in the Hull Hospital at 6 a.m. Jan. 24, 1928 of apoplexy and lobar pneumonia; buried in Graceland Cemetery, Sioux City, Iowa. The informant, Mrs. Peter Anderson, gives her address as 927 South Cecilia Street [presumably Sioux City].
