From the Alton Democrat, January 27, 1928, Boyden news:

Mrs. Emma Stutzman received word of the death of Mr. Neut Ingraham, an early settler of Sioux County, which occurred at Lewis, Ia., on Dec. 26th, the cause being high blood pressure. He had been in his customary health and had attended to his duties as sexton of the cemetery until a few days prior to his death. On the morning of Dec. 26th, he complained of not feeling so well and it was thought best for him to go to the hospital where he could receive the best of treatment, but he passed away late that same day. He was laid to rest in the cemetery for which he had cared for several years.

His wife, three sons and two daughters survive him. Deceased was a cousin of the late J. A. Stutzman and Mrs. Nick Wolff of Sheldon, came to Sioux County in the early days, having broken up the prairie on the farm now occupied by W. Boelsma and was an active character in the development of the country in those early days—some 40 or more years ago, and will be remembered by many friends of that period. The family moved to Pottawattomie County a number of years ago and later to Cass County, where they still reside. He was nearly 72 years of age.

Ingram, born Sept. 5, 1856 in Pennsylvania, age 71 years, 3 months, 21 days; wife Louise Ingram; occupation, laborer; parents Isaac Ingram, born in Pennsylvania, mother unknown to the informant, Louise Ingram; died in the Atlantic Hospital, Lewis, Cass County, Iowa, at 11:25 p.m., December 26, 1927; cause, “chronic interstitial nephritis, suppression of urine, acute dilitation of heart; contributory cause, enlarged prostate gland; buried in the Lewis Cemetery.
