From the Rock Valley Bee, November 18, 1927:

Mrs. N.[sic] Redeker Died Sunday

Mrs. M. Redeker, who was brought to the Rock Valley Hospital last week Wednesday, from her home near Rock Rapids, for an operation for appendicitis, passed away Sunday morning [Nov. 13]. She withstood the operation and was apparently doing as well as could be expected, when other complications developed, coupled with a weak heart, she was unable to survive. Funeral services were held at Rock Rapids Wednesday and the remains were taken to Carmel, her former home, for burial. Mrs. Redeker is survived by her husband, and her mother and brother who live at Carmel.

MRS. M. REDEKER WELL KNOWN HERE

Mrs. Matt Redeker of Rock Rapids, daughter of Mrs. J. Sandbulte of Carmel, died Sunday at the hospital in Rock Valley, where an operation for appendicitis had been performed the previous Monday night. Mrs. Redeker was 38 years of age. She grew up in this vicinity and many friends here regret her passing and sympathize with the family. Her husband survives, her mother, three sisters and three brothers, John Sandbulte, Will Sandbulte and Henry Sandbulte, of this vicinity; Mrs. John De Groot and Mrs. Wolfswinkel of Hull; Mrs. Remmerde of Carmel. Funeral services were held Wednesday at Rock Rapids, with burial in the Carmel cemetery.

From De Volksvriend, November 17, 1957:

Mrs. Mat Redeker van Rock Rapids is Zondagmorgen overleden in 't hospitaal te Rock Valley alwaar zij slehts eene korte wijle had vertoefd. Zij had den leeftijd van ongeveer 40 jaren bereikt en laat haa echtgenoot achter. De begrafenis had Woendag dezer week plaats te Carmel, hunne vroegere woonplaats, na diensten te Rock Rapids en te Carmel gehouden te hebben. De families Duven, R. De Cook en Spyker van hier gingen derwaarts om de laatste eer aan het stoffelijke overschot, van dit familielid te bewijzen.

TRANSLATION

Mrs. Mat Redeker of Rock Rapids died Sunday morning in the hospital at Rock Valley where she had been for a short while. She had reached the age of about 40 years and leaves her husband behind. The funeral was held this week at Carmel, their former home, after having held services at Rock Rapids and Carmel. The families Duven, R. De Cook and Spyker from here went there to pay their last respects to the mortal remains of their relative.

OVERLIJDENSBERICHT [OBITUARY]

Het heeft den Heere behaagd in zijn ondoorgrondelijke wijsheid, van mijn zijde weg te nemen door den dood, mijn geliefde echtgenoote,
Anna Wilhelmina Redeker – geb. Sandbulte
in den nog jougdigen leeftijd van 37 jaren en 11 maanden.

Dat wij geloeven mogen dat zij nu verlost is van alle pijn en smart en juicht voor den Troon Gods, lenigt onze diepe smart.

Bij dezen wenschen wij ook alle vrienden en bekenden hartelijk te danken voor elk bewijs van liefde, hulp en sympathie.

It has pleased the Lord in his inscrutable wisdom, to take away from my side by death, my beloved wife,
Anna Wilhelmina Redeker – nee Sandbulte
at the still young age of 37 years and 11 months.

That we may believe she is now delivered from all pain and sorrow and rejoices before the throne of God, alleviates our deep sorrow.

We also wish to thank all friends and acquaintances for every proof of love, help and sympathy.
