From the Boyden Reporter, September 22, 1927:

ROSE JUNE WALLINGA

Rose June Wallinga, the infant child of Mr. and Mrs. Bert Wallinga, died last week Friday, September 16th, at 1:00 o’clock p.m., at their home southwest of Boyden. The cause of her death was meningitis. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock at the United Presbyterian church with Rev. Forrester, pastor of the Methodist church of Sheldon, officiating, assisted by Rev. Stewart. Interment was made in the Boyden cemetery.

The little daughter was born on June 13, 1926, and she was one year, three months and three days of age at the time of her death. Her illness was of short duration which started with whooping cough and pneumonia. Everything possible was done for the little child in the way of loving care and medical services. The Reporter extends its sincere sympathy to the bereaved parents in their great loss.

The Sioux County Cemetery Index has Walinga, Rosella J., b. 1926, d. 1927, Sheridan Twp Cem, Boyden IA. (However, her parents, Bert and Ella, are both indexed as Wallinga.)

Her death certificate has her as Rose June Wallinga and adds her mother’s name, Ella Dusit[?].
