Myrtle Lamfers, 85, of Hospers, died Friday, October 31, 2003, at the Oak Park Care Center in Sheldon.

A memorial services was held on Tuesday, November 4, at 2 P.M., at the First Presbyterian Church in Hospers. The Reverend Brian Janssen officiated. Burial was held prior to the service at the Hospers Cemetery under the direction of the Oolman Funeral Home in Hospers.

Myrtle was born August 9, 1918, at Hospers, the daughter of Neal and Anna (Vos) Boterhoek. She was raised at Hospers.

On August 20, 1952, she married Ben Lamfers at Hospers. They farmed at Hospers. Mr. Lamfers died in July of 1976 at Hospers. In 2001, Mrs. Lamfers became a resident of the Oak Park Care Center. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, where she participated in volunteer activities, She enjoyed crocheting.

Survivors include her brother and his wife, Henry and Harriet Boterhoek of Hospers; her sister, Mathilda Harmelink of Arvada, Colorado; and nieces and nephews.

Memorial may be directed to Village Northwest unlimited in Sheldon.
