Mrs. Sebastian Kuyper, 76, nee Jennie Mulder, beloved Alton resident for many years, died at the Orange City Hospital Friday evening, November 26th, following an illness of several weeks.

She was born September 27, 1889 at Hospers, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Mulder, who later moved to Alton. She was married to Mr. Kuyper March 16, 1911 at Orange City and the couple lived most of their life in Alton. Mr. Kuyper died in 1963.

Surviving are five daughters and one son, namely, Genevieve, Mrs. William Starkenburg, Alton; Anna Mae, Mrs. Ted Goslinga, Orange City; Ruth, Mrs. Peter Minten, Alton; Arlene, Mrs. William Bierma, Sioux Center; Wilma, Mrs. Bob Zevenbergen, Alton; Harold Kuyper, Knoxville, Iowa; also 17 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and three sisters: Mrs. A.S. Martin, Sioux Falls, South Dakota; Mrs. T.J. Watson, Des Moines; Mrs. William Gash, Polk City. She was preceded in death by her husband, 4 brothers and one grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Monday, November 29 at the United Presbyterian Church in Alton, of which she was a member for many years. Reverend John Maze officiated and special music was furnished by Mrs. Fred Eason and Mrs. Max Kiernan, Mrs. Joel Boeyink, organist. Interment was in Nassau Township Cemetery.

Mrs. Kuyper was a devoted mother, loved by family, neighbors and friends for her kindness and cheerfulness.

Pallbearers were James Goslinga, Stewart Goslinga, Keith Zevenbergen, Kenneth Kooistra, Albert Mouw, Marvin Zeutenhorst.
