Mrs. Audrey Jongetjes, age 77, of Hull, passed away on Saturday, February 3, 2018, at the Pleasant Acres Care Center in Hull.

There will be a funeral service on Wednesday, February 7, at 10:00am, at the First Christian Reformed Church in Hull. The Rev. Carl Klompien will officiate. Interment will follow the service at the Hope Cemetery in Hull. Visitation will be after 5:00pm on Tuesday, with the family present from 5:00pm to 7:00pm, at the church.

Arrangements are with the Oolman Funeral Home in Hull.

Audrey Everdena was born on November 3, 1940, at Hull, the daughter of Everett and Dena (Eppinga) Berghorst. She was raised at Hull, where she attended the Christian School and graduated from the Western Christian High School in 1959.

On October 19, 1960, she married LeRoy Jongetjes at Hull. They made their home in Hull, where she was a homemaker and worked for Dykstra Produce and later Pleasant Acres. From January of 1967 to October of 1968, they lived in White Sands, New Mexico, while LeRoy was in the United States Army. After their children were in school, Audrey was employed at the egg plant in Boyden, Hardees in Sioux Center, and the Ewoldt Chiropractic Office in Hull. She retired in 2003.

In 2009, she had a light stroke, after which she received therapy and also assistance from the Sioux Center Home Health. In 2010, after a severe seizure, she became a resident of Pleasant Acres.

Survivors include her husband of over 57 years; two daughters, Leah, and her husband, Marlin Schoonhoven, of Ireton; and LaRae Bloemendaal, of Sioux Center; five grandchildren, Alex, Tessa, and Joseph Schoonhoven; and Angela and Miranda Bloemendaal; and two sisters, Anna Vander Well, of Escondido, California; and Arlene, and her husband, Orville Van’t Hul, of Hull.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-mother, Hattie Berghorst; a daughter, Angela Jongetjes; two sisters, Alyna, and her husband, Jack Kleinwolterink and Anita Berghorst; and two brothers-in-law, Loren Vander Well and Gerald Van Voorst.

Memorials may be directed to the Hull Christian School and SALUTE (Sending Appreciation and Love with Unending Thoughts and Esteem), which sends “care” bags to military personnel.
