Corwyn Van Middendorp, age 65, of Rock Valley, IA, passed away Sunday, January 21, 2018 at his home in Rock Valley, IA.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 26th at the Memorial Funeral Home in Sioux Center, IA.

Burial will follow in the Memory Gardens Cemetery in Sioux Center, IA.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Corwyn Glen Van Middendorp was born on August 24, 1952 in Le Mars, IA, the son of Cornelius “Cornie” and Greta (Van Veldhuizen) Van Middendorp. He and his family lived in several communities such as Doon, IA, Hull, IA, Sioux Center, IA and while they lived in Sioux Center Corwyn moved to Orange City, IA and started working for K-Products. After K-Products was bought out by Staples Corwyn went to work for Double HH Manufacturing in Rock Valley, IA. During this time, he moved to Sheldon, IA to live with his mother and after commuting to work from Sheldon for a year he decided to move to Rock Valley to be closer to work.

His hobbies included collecting classic model cars, going to football and basketball games at the Sioux Center High School while he lived in Sioux Center and going to games at Northwestern while he lived in Orange City. Corwyn liked to go to the movies from time to time, go camping and was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears. He will be greatly missed.

Corwyn is survived by his mother, Greta Van Middendorp of Sheldon, IA; three siblings: Jeroy “Jerry” Van Middendorp of Sheldon, IA, Diane Van Middendorp of Sheldon, IA and Lois (Tony) Saavedra of Hull, IA; three nieces and two nephews: Sally and Mindy Van Middendorp, Troy Saavedra, Lisa (Mark) Korthals and Curtis Saavedra; and other extended family.

He was preceded in death by his dad, Cornie Van Middendorp.
