Mrs. Marjorie Beltman, age 83, of Orange City, passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2018, at the Prairie Ridge Care Center in Orange City.

There will be a memorial service on Monday, February 5, at 2:30pm, at the First Reformed Church in Orange City. The Rev. Mark Haverdink will officiate. Interment will be prior to the service at the West Lawn Cemetery in Orange City. There will be a family prayer service on Monday, at 1:30pm, at the Oolman Funeral Home in Orange City.

Visitation will be after 2:00pm on Sunday, with the family present from 2:00pm to 4:00pm, at the funeral home.

Marjorie Arlene was born on February 24, 1934, at Ireton, the daughter of Cornelius S. and Geretta (Hofmeyer) Ekdom. She was raised in Ireton, where she attended the Ireton Christian School. She then enrolled at the Northwestern Classical Academy in Orange City and graduated from the Northwestern Junior College with a teaching certificate. She briefly taught at the Ireton Christian School before devoting her time to being a wife and mother.

On June 8, 1954, she married Freeman Faber in Ireton. They first made their home in Orange City for seven years before moving to Ireton, and later to Sioux Center. Freeman passed away on April 10, 1998, in Sioux Center, after more than 43 years of marriage.

On September 11, 2004, she married Orville Beltman in Orange City, where they made their home.

Mrs. Beltman was a member of the First Reformed Church, and a former member of the Ireton Christian Reformed Church and the Bethel Christian Reformed Church in Sioux Center. She enjoyed fishing, traveling, shopping, crocheting, and gardening.

Survivors include her husband of more than thirteen years; her three children and their spouses, Renee and Mike Noteboom, of Orange City; Barb and Dallas Jackson, of Urbandale; and Douglas and Cinda Faber, of Ireton; two step-sons and their wives, Daryl and Shirley Beltman and Ron and Mary Beltman, all of Orange City; ten grandchildren, Ryan Noteboom, Elise Stafford, Ross Kelderman, Abby Carbajal, Kate Rittman, Kayla Wendt, Eric Faber, Keaven Faber, Joshua Beltman, and Laura Beltman; fifteen great-grandchildren; and two brothers and their wives, John and Elaine Ekdom and Stanley and Darlene Ekdom.

In addition to her parents and first husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Gerald Ekdom.

Memorials may be directed to the Orange City Area Home Health and Hospice, the Orange City Christian School, or Unity Christian High School.
