Funeral services for Hans Moorlag, 65, lifelong resident of Rock Valley, who died at his home Monday evening, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Porter funeral home at Rock Valley and at 1:30 p.m. at the Christian Reformed church. Rev. John Byker will officiate. Burial will be in the Valley View cemetery at Rock Valley under the direction of Porter funeral home.
He was born at Hull Sept. 5, 1898. He married Gertrude Hubers in Rock Valley on January 8, 1920. Mr. Moorlag was an operator of retail hardware and variety stores for 23 years. In 1939 he started business at Coast to Coast store. He sold out in 1949. In 1950 he began running the Variety store until his retirement in 1982.
Survivors include the widow, and two sisters, Mrs. John Boer and Mrs. Albert Veltkamp, both of Rock Valley.
