NICHOLAS KONZ FUNERAL AT GRANVILLE

Funeral services were held in St. Joseph’s Church on Wednesday for Nicholas Konz, who died very suddenly in a Cherokee Hospital Sunday noon at 12:45 at the age of 78 years.

Nicholas Konz was born on February 2, 1868 in Jackson County, Iowa, the son of the late Mathias and Susan (Hess) Konz.

On January 19, 1897 he was married to Miss Mary Plathe at St. Mary’s Church by Reverend Brune in Alton.

To this union were born seven children. Surviving besides his wife are two daughters and three sons namely: Emma, Mrs. Bernard Minten of Alton; Hilary Konz of Sioux City; Aloysius, Lawrence and Regina at home and twin daughters who died in infancy; also ten grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Susan Mousel of Alton.

Pallbearers were Edwin Budden, Anton Schuver, Leo Lechtenberg, Clarence Kreber, Norbert Naber and Ray Schemmel.
