Funeral services were at St. Mary’s Catholic Church at Alton Tuesday morning for Mrs. Joseph (Emma) Konz, who died at the nursing home in Remsen April 10, following a long illness. Reverend Norbert Boc’s conducted the last rites and interment was at the parish cemetery. Rosaries were recited Monday afternoon and evening in the parish hall.

Mrs. Konz, nee Emma Mousel, was born July 8, 1899, at White Lake, South Dakota and was married February 14, 1921, at Alton. Her husband died in 1948 at Alton.

Survivors are Leander of Remsen, Lloyd of Orange City, Joseph, Jr. of Granville, Mrs. Milton Galles and Mrs. Marvin Galles, both of Remsen, and Mrs. Donald Shea of Primghar.

Also surviving are her sisters, Mrs. John Konz and Mrs. John Pottebaum, both of Alton, and Mrs. Charles Homan of Stayton, Minnesota; 42 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
