RITES FRIDAY FOR JOE KONZ, WELL KNOWN ALTON FARMER

Joseph Konz, well known farmer living east of Alton, passed on at the Le Mars Hospital just before midnight Tuesday, October 26. He has been in ill health with a complication of diseases for several months.

Funeral services will be held in Alton at St. Mary’s Church Friday morning at 9 o’clock. Wednesday and Thursday nights the body will be at the Fisch Funeral Home, Remsen, where the wake will be held Thursday night.

Joe Konz, as he was known to many friends in this vicinity, was born at Alton 53 years ago last July. He married Emma Mousel, who survives him, together with six children--Leander, Arlene, Margie, Anna Marie, Loyal and Joseph, Jr. He is also survived by his mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Konz of Alton, and by seven sisters and four brothers, who are Nick of Adrian, Matt and John of Alton and Bernard of Lincoln, Nebraska. The sisters are Mrs. Frank Mousel and Mrs. Otto Probst of Alton, Mrs. Ed Baer, El Paso, Texas; Mrs. William McGaugh, Faulkton, South Dakota; Mrs. Joe Tastove, Adrian, Minnesota, Mrs. Henry Vortherms, Alton, Mrs. Frank Jemming, Lincoln, Nebraska. One sister, Ann, the first Mrs. Otto Probst and one brother preceded him in death.

Mr. Konz was a successful farmer, a good husband and father and a loyal friend and neighbor.
