Services Thursday for Mrs. Johanna Koele

Johanna Koele was born to Mr. and Mrs. William Vander Kooi on October 6, 1885 on a farm near Maurice, Iowa. At an early age they moved to a farm south of Hull which was her home until she was married to Egbert Koele on May 28, 1906. She spent her entire life in and around the Hull vicinity except for a few years when they lived at George and Matlock.

She was a member of the American Reformed Church of Hull and an active member of the Guild for Christian Service.

She passed away at the Sioux Center Hospital Sunday, January 22, 1961 at the age of 75 years, 3 months, 16 days. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1955, her parents, three brothers, and on sister.

She is survived by four daughters, namely, Jennie, Mrs. S. Schortinghuis of Sheldon; Josie, Mrs. Peter Rons of Tyler, Minnesota; Henrietta, Mrs. Kenneth Anderson of Fort Dodge and Wilma, Mrs. Al Vrooland of Boyden, also 1 granddaughter, 5 grandsons, and 5 great-grandchildren. One brother, Ben Vander Kooi of Hull, and 2 sisters, Mrs. Agnes Rypkema of George, and Mrs. Minnie Visser of Hull also survives.

Funeral services were held Thurday, January 26th from the American Reformed Church in Hull, Reverend Harold C. Ringenoldus officiating.

Pall Bearers were Robert Rons, Evarat Vroonland, David Vroonland, Neil Schortinghuis, Harm Oltmand and James Vander Kooi.
