Funeral services for Peter Koel, 62, were held at 1:00 P.M. Monday at Porter Funeral Home and at 1:30 at the First Christian Reformed Church, with the Reverend Leonard Van Drunen officiating . Burial was in Valley View Cemetery with Porter Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Koel died unexpectedly at his farm home two miles east of Alvord early Friday morning. Vernon Kelly, William Johnson, Laurence Schruer, Joe Flier, Maurice Tomjack and Wallace Van Roekel served as pallbearers. Music was furnished by Arthur Koolma, John Groenewey, Jake Kooima, and George Van Beek accompanied by Mrs. Jake Oostra at the organ.

Peter Koel was born June 23, 1904 near Rock Valley. He was married to Elizabeth Ver Berg in 1933 and they were parents of five children, all of whom survive. The children are Delmer of Rock Rapids; Marvin, Minneapolis, Darlene (Mrs. Frank Gunnick), Sioux City; and Carol and Leslie, both at home.

Also surviving are two brothers, John of Rock Rapids and Ed of Milwaukee; four sisters: Mrs. Abe DeGroot, Mrs. Bert Kammerman and Mrs. Art Van Ravenhorst, all of Sioux Center and Mrs. Neil Schuller of Orange City.
