Mrs. Connie De Boer, age 71, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, formerly of Spirit Lake and Hull, passed away on Friday, November 24, 2017, at her residence.

There will be a time of family reflections on Saturday, December 2, at 1:00pm, at the Oolman Funeral Home in Hull. The Rev. Curtis De Boer will lead this time. Visitation with the family will be on Saturday, from 1:30pm to 2:30pm, at the funeral home.

Connie Jean was born on April 7, 1946, in Sioux Falls, the daughter of Oscar and Stella (Fritz) Haugse. She was raised at Sioux Falls, where she graduated from the Washington High School. She also took a course in computer programming.

On April 9, 1965, she married Merlyn Dennis De Boer at the First Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls. They made their home at Hull, where they farmed. Besides being a homemaker, she also held a variety of part-time positions. In 2000, they moved to Spirit Lake. In May of 2017, they moved to Sioux Falls.

Connie enjoyed oil painting, reading, and shopping, especially at garage sales. She was a great cook and baker. She looked forward to spending time with her family and made sure everyone had a gift to unwrap at Christmas.

Survivors include her husband of more than 52 years; a daughter, Kelli De Boer, of Sheldon; a son and his wife, Mike and Lisa De Boer, of Fairmont, Minnesota; five grandchildren, Kelsi, and her husband, Damon Anderson; Lindsey Cuperus, Ryan Cuperus, Micah De Boer, and Kali De Boer; and a great-granddaughter, Paisley Anderson.
