Funeral services held for Ietje Driesen

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, August 10 in the First Christian Reformed church of Rock Valley for Mrs.
Ietje Driesen, 90, longtime resident of the Rock Valley area.
Rev. John Byker officiated. Interment was in Valley View cemetery.

Mrs. Driesen died last Thursday in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Otto Van't Hul, following a lingering illness.
Mrs. Driesen, the former Ietje Faber, was born Jan. 16, 1873, in The Netherlands. She came to the United States at the age of 18 and was married to John Hoekstra in Rock Valley two years later. Mr. Hoekstra died Dec. 31, 1925.
She was married to John Driesen, Sr., in Sept. of 1944. Mr. Driesen died in Sept 1953.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs Otto (Ida) Van't Hul, Rock Valley; two sons, Edward Hoekstra, Rock Valley, Peter Hoekstra, Doon; a brother, Simon Faber, Grand Rapids, Mich.;
17 grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren
and three great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Neal Hoekstra, a brother and 3 sisters.
