MRS RODNEY GORDON

Mrs. Rodney Gordon, nee Esther Arlene Kuyper passed away on Monday morning after a lingering illness. She was born July 2, 1923 near Matlock and had attained the age of 26 years, 11 months and 3 days.

She was united in marriage to Mr. Rodney Gordon March 22, 1941. She leaves to mourn her loss,
her husband, Rodney and five daughters, Beverly, Nancy, Donna, Diana, and Delores Jean. She is also survived by her mother, Jacoba Van Sloten, Mrs. J. (Joe) Kuyper, one sister, Shirley, and one brother, Harold Her father and three brothers preceded her in death.

Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at the First Reformed church for Mrs. Rodney Gordon, who passed away after an illness of a few weeks. Rev. C. Postma and Rev. John Schortinghuis were in charge of the services. Special music was furnished by a quartet composed of Mrs Ray Smit, Mrs Henry L. Moret, John and Frank Vermeer, and a solo was sung by Mrs Leonard Rensink.

Interment was made in the Boyden cemetery and the Pallbearers were Jerry De Raad, John Landhuis, William Vagts, Gerrit Schnieder, Abe Vande Gaarde and Chris Vander Berg.

Sitter of Ortonville, Minn., Mrs Eva Kuyper and family of St. James, Minn., Mrs Charles Kuyper and family of Worthington, Minn., Mrs Guy Kuyper and family of West Bend, Mr and Mrs Ed Larsen of Sioux City, Mr and Mrs Frank Rueb of Aberdeen, S. Dak., Mr and Mrs John Gordon of Omaha, Nebr., Mrs Virginia Cook of Des Moines, Mr and Mrs Frank Gordon, Mr and Mrs Howard Kuyper and family, and Mrs Con Kuyper, all of Sheldon, and Mr and Mrs John Van Sloten and family, of Rock Valley, Mr and Mrs John Kumme and family and Mrs John Douma and family, all of Hull.
