MRS. ALBERT PROBST DIES AT SIOUX CITY, BURIAL AT ALTON

Mrs. Margaret M. Probst, 84, for many years a resident of Alton where her parents the late Mr. and Mrs. Bernard and Christina (Brehm) Kettler were pioneers died at a hospital Saturday after an illness of two weeks. She had been a resident of South Sioux City since 1854.

Margaret Kettler was born May 14, 1879, at Buffalo Grove, Illness and came to Alton as a child with her parents. She was married to Albert Probst of Homer, Nebraska July 27, 1930, at Winnebago, Nebraska. He died December 26, 1957.

The couple moved to Sioux City in 1944 and to South Sioux City in 1954. She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church and Altar Society, where funeral services were held Monday morning, with burial at Alton in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Survivors include a son, Orville, of South Sioux City; three brothers: Frank Kettler of Mapleton; Otto P. Kettler of Alton; O.T. Kettler of Chicago; three sisters;: Mrs. Clara Fath of Kenneth, Minnesota; Mrs. Alma Schneider of Paulina; Mrs. Eleanor Mousel of Chicago; and five grandchildren.

All sisters and brothers and members of their families were present at the funeral Monday, with the exception of Mrs. J.V. Mousel, who was unable to attend.

The many Alton friends who remember Mrs. Probst so kindly, extend sympathy to her son and other members of the family.
