From the Rock Valley Bee, March 5, 1926:

Death of Well Known Pioneer

Mrs. John Albertson died at the home of her son Curtis Albertson, on the farm which had been her home for many years, situated southeast of this place, on Monday, Feb. 22. Mrs. Albertson had been failing in health for a long time and had been seriously ill for some weeks prior to her death. Her daughter Mrs. O. B. Parkinson has been here for the past three weeks or more and has assisted in the care of her mother during her last illness. A trained nurse has also been in attendance.

Mrs. John Albertson was one of the very few remaining early day settlers entitled to be classed as real pioneers. She and her husband underwent real early day hardships of the then very new country. The deceased was a very amiable and lovely lady, an earnest Christian and was held in the very highest esteem by all who knew her.

She was preceded to the heavenly home by her husband several years ago. She leaves to mourn her death, her daughter, Mrs. O. B. Parkinson, and her sons Will and Oscar of Austin, Minn., Gilbert of La Feria, Texas and Curtis of this community.

Funeral services are to be conducted at the Methodist Church in this city at 2:30 this (Thursday) afternoon and interment will be made in the Richland Cemetery. – Inwood Herald.
