Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon for Mrs. George W. Kessler. Mrs. Kessler died at a nursing home in Denver, Colorado. Sunday, November 14. Reverend Marvin Nelson officiated.

Ida was born to Mr. and Mrs. Fred and Flora (Smith) Heizig at Rock Valley, January 8, 1886, and attained the age of 79 years, 9 months and 6 days.

She grew up here and was married to George Washington Kessler June 28, 1905. Three children were born to the union. Mr. Kessler died in July, 1933.

Mrs. Kessler remained here for a time, then stayed with her son in New York, and her daughter at Denver since then.

She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Howard Corwin of Denver, one son , George of Schenectady, New York; 9 grandchildren and several great- grandchildren; 3 sisters, Mrs. W. A. Brooke of Tucson, Arizona, Mrs. Louis Elbert Of Doon; and Mrs. Lee Schlecty of Rock Valley, and Mrs. Lorraine Whettes of Iowa City.

Three sisters and a brother and a son, Marzo, preceded her in death.

Those from a distance who attended the funeral of Mrs. George W. Kessler here Thursday afternoon were her daughter, Mrs. Irene Corwin and Mrs. Howard Corwin Jr. of Denver, Colorado, Mr. and Mrs. George Kessler Jr. of Schenectady, New York, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Elbert of Doon, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Elbert of Hills, Minnesota, Mrs. A. J. Klomp, Kansas City, Missouri, Mr. and Mrs. Don Clay and children Larry and Angle of Hampton, lowa, Mr. and.Mrs. Don L. Kessler, Lee and Darin, and Mr. and Mrs. Darrell Kessler and Tricia, Mr. and Mrs. Vergil Kessler, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Kessler and Alberta Hellstrom, all of Sioux City, Mrs. Vera Rogers of Hudson, South Dakota, Mrs. Curtis Shupe of Sioux Falls.

Mrs. Corwin and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. George Kessler, Mr. and Mrs. Clay and Mr. and Mrs. Darrel Kessler left Friday morning for their respective homes. Mr. and Mrs. Don Kessler remained to spend the weekend with his mother, Mrs. Rosie Kessler and other relatives. Mrs. Lucille Schirmer of Sioux Falls was also present at the funeral.
