Two Brothers Die Within 8 Days

George Washington Kessler Follows Brother Andrew In Death

The town of Rock valley was sadly shocked Sunday afternoon by the sudden death of George W. Kessler of heart disease.

Mr. Kessler had not been feeling very well during the early part of the day but ate a good dinner. He had gone into the yard in the afternoon to look around when he became sick. He was gotten into the house and Dr. L.K. Hegg was called.

Mr. Kessler rallied again but died shortly after. The time of his passing was 4:30 P.M.

Mr. Kessler was formerly Standard Oil manager here, building the original service station on the corner of Third and Mitchell streets making a beauty spot of it as was also his home on South Mitchell Street, and Tripp Ave.

He leaves to mourn his passing his widow, Mrs. Ida Mabel (Heisig) Kessler, a daughter Mrs. Howard M. Corwin, Jr., two sons Marzo and George Willis, Jr., beside one sister Mrs. Jennie Hodge, Fairview, Oklahoma, and a brother, Howard Kessler of Murdo, South Dakota.

Four brothers and two sisters preceded him in death, the one Andrew W. Kessler who passed away just 8 days previous, on Saturday July 15, 1833.

Note: His parents were George Washington Kessler Sr. and Susan Watts Kessler.
