After a long illness with cancer, Daniel Jurriaans, 72, died at his home at 10 P.M. Tuesday evening, March 8. Funeral services will be held Friday at 1 P.M. in the home and at 1:30 P.M. in the First Reformed Church with Reverend H. Colenbrander officiating. Van Etten Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Jurriaans, well known gardener and truck farmer, was a native of Holland and came to this country when he was 16. He first worked on farms near here. He was united in marriage to Jessie Dykstra and they also farmed in this vicinity. Later they did truck gardening at Aberdeen, South Dakota for 10 years and for a time also lived in Minnesota. In 1918 they returned here and Mrs. Jurriaans was kept busy with her flowers and extensive gardening.

Surviving are a daughter, Marguerite, Mrs. John Korver and two sons, Donald of Orange City and Andrew of Hospers. Also one sister, Mrs. William Verdoorn who cared for him the past months and two brothers, William Jurriaans of Grand Rapids, Michigan and Raymond Jurriaans of Tampa, Florida.
