From the Rock Valley Bee, August 21, 1925:

PIONEER HUDSON MAN DIES

George M. Okey, of Hudson, died week before last at La Mesa, Calif., according to word received at Hudson. He died at the home of his daughter, and most of his children and his aged wife were with him when he passed away. A year ago he was run down by an auto and received injuries from which he never fully recovered. Mr. Okey was a pioneer of the vicinity of Hudson, having homesteaded a farm on the Iowa side, two miles north of Hudson.

FindaGrave.com has George Malanthus Okey, born March 6, 1851 in Woodsfield, Monroe County, Ohio; died July 30, 1925 at La Jolla, San Diego County (the same county as La Mesa), California; parents Wilson Shannon Okey (1825-1901) and Abigail Largent Okey (1825-1900), both of whom have Sioux County obits posted; spouse Ella Elizabeth Miller Okey (1852-1931); buried in Greenwood Memorial Park, San Diego, California. Several children are listed, as well as his brother, Lewis Leroy Okey (1848-1924), who died and was buried in Sioux City.
