OBIRUARY OF THE LATE MR. TUNIS JANSMA OF HULL

Mr. Tunis Jansma was born in Friesland, Netherlands, September 5, 1876, and came to America with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wigger Jansma, at the age of four and settled in Maurice, Iowa. He had lived all his life in Sioux County, from his arrival in the United States until his death.

On February 28, 1902, he was united in marriage to Jane Van Dyk. They first resided southeast of Hull for eight year and then moved northwest of Hull where they lived for thirty-five years, and in 1943 moved to Hull.

Mr. Jansma suffered a stroke five years ago and had been ailing since, and had been bed-fast for the last four months.

He leaves to mourn, his nine children, William of Ellsworth, Minnesota; Andrew of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; Dick of Steen, Minnesota; Walter of Rock Rapids; Peter of Hull; Dorothy (Mrs. Ernest De Groot) of Norwalk, California; Tunis, Jr. of Hudson, South Dakota; Floyd, who is living on the home place; and James of Doon, Iowa; and 25 grandchildren, and a sistr, Mrs. William Claerbout of Hull. He also leaves a host of friends and other acquaintances.

Mr. Jansma died March 20, 1950 at the age of 73, years, 6 months and 15 days. Funeral services were held Friday, March 24, at one o’clock at the home and 1:30 at the local Protestant Reformed Church with the Reverend J.D. De Jong officiating. Interment was at Hope Cemetery, Hull, Iowa.
