OBITUARY MRS. HENRY SCHOL 1863-1943
Mrs. Henry Schol passed away early Saturday morning after several years of severe suffering. Thursday morning, she suffered a light heart attack which caused her death. She was a loving Christian wife and mother.

Our loss is her gain Mrs. Schol nee Schaap of Hull was born Dec. 6th 1863 at Ter Schelling, Netherlands. She came to America at the age of 5 years. In the year 1881 she was united in marriage to Jacob P. Groen . To this union 9 children were born.

Her husband, Mr. Groen, one son and four daughters, preceded her in death. On Dec. 7, 1920 she was united in marriage to Mr. H. Schol of George

Mourning her departure are her husband H. Schol and 4 daughters Jennie (Mrs. J. Van Zee) of Sanborn, Minnie (Mrs. John Zoerink) of Hull Coba. (Mrs. John Soodsma), and MatIda (Mrs. H.J. Wallenga) of Doon; 50 grandchildren arid 26 great grand children; one brother C. J. Schaap of Hull and seven step children and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Wednesday Feb. 24, 1943 at 1:30 at the home and 2 o’clock from the Chr. Ref. church with Dr. R. L. haan and Rev. R. A. Jager officiating. Burial was in Hope Cemetery. Her grandsons were pall bearers.

Note: From a family report on ancestry.com (done by others) Jacob P. Groen born 6 May 1859 Netherlands died 14 Jul 1907 Sioux County IA. He was the son of Johanns C. Schaap 1824-1910 and Maria Jans DE Vries 1823-1880. His wife was Tettje ‘Tillie’ Schaap 1863- 1943. They had nine childen: Peter, 1883, Maria 1887, Jantje 1888, Aaltje 1890, Maggie 1891, Kate 1893, Minnie 1897, Jacoba 1900 and Matilda 1904. Tettje ‘Tillie’ was the daughter of Johannes Schaap 1824-1910 and Maria De Vries 1823-1880.
