Mrs. Emil (Ruby) Jacobsen, 73, of Rock Valley, died September 8 at Hegg Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.

Services were held September 12 at Peace Lutheran Church with the Reverend James Frank officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery with the Porter Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Jacobsen, the former Ruby Hotvet, was born August 13, 1904, in Lyon County. She was married June 28, 1928, at Hills, Minnesota. They farmed in the Rock Valley area.

Survivors include a widower; four sons, David of Las Vegas, Nevada; Roy of Parker, Colorado; James of Des Moines and Stanley of Evergreen, Colorado and one daughter, Mrs. Glenn (Marilyn) Pedersen of Sheldon.

Also surviving are 15 grandchildren, one brother, Milton of Coleman, South Dakota and six sisters, Mrs. Eugene (Alice) Coffield of Medland, Texas, Mrs. Albert (Stella) Berdahl of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Mrs. Leroy (Ruth) Holland of Inwood, Mrs. Floyd (Naomi) Hohman of Larchwood, Mrs. Gifford (Muriel) Berkland of Luverne, Minnesota and Mrs. Edwin (Grace) Geick of Rock Rapids.
