Diedrich Frederick Jahn, a widely known resident of Struble, died Monday evening, April 5, while he was being taken to a hospital in Le Mars by his daughter-in-law, Mrs. Marie Jahn and John Brangwin. He had been in poor health but his death came unexpectedly as the result of a heart attack.

Diedrich Jahn was born in Germany September 26, 1860, and came to this country when a small boy. As he grew up, he farmed a few years and in 1887, he was married to Frederica Klinge and they came to Sioux County shortly after, locating at Struble. Mr. Jahn was in business at Struble, retiring a few years ago.

He is survived by his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Ott Cornelius of Brockton, Montana and Mrs. Rose LaBahn of Waverly, and three sons, William H. Jahn of Le Mars, Dick Jahn of Idaho Falls, Idaho and Arthur Jahn of El Reno, Oklahoma.

Funeral services were held at the Reading Township Lutheran Church at 2 o’clock last Friday afternoon with Reverend S. Becker in charge. Several from Ireton attended.
