Funeral services were held for Mrs. Adeline Irwin, 79, of Sioux City at the Ireton Methodist Church Sunday, April 30, with the Reverend C.E. Custer of Hawarden and the Reverend F. Springis of Ireton. Burial was held in the Ireton Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Irwin was the daughter of Thomas and Mary (McDougal) Edwards, born May 15, 1881, in Ireton. She was admitted to a Sioux City Hospital April 9 and passed away April 28, 1961. On May 17, 1899, she was married to Hugh Thomas Irwin and were the parents of a son, Ralph Lynn, and daughter, Grace Leone. They farmed in the Ireton vicinity for a number of years before retiring and moving to Sioux City to live. She was a member of the Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband and daughter, Mrs. Wyram Knowlton. Surviving are one son, Dr. Ralph Irwin of Los Angeles, California; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
