Belle Quinlan – Crannell Passes away at Cedar Falls.
Mrs. Belle Crannell died at her home in Cedar Falls IA, Friday morning Dec 2, at three a.m. The announcement of her death was a chock to her many friends and relatives. She had been ailing for many years but only the last three was she confined to her bed and her life in danger. Malign infraction of the heart was the cause of her death.

Belle Quinlan was born on the farm south east of Rock Valley, Dec 10, 1877, where she lived until No. 25, 1903, when she was married to Arthur A. Crannell, of Lester, IA. To this union one children was born, George Edward, who was left to mourn her loss, his father having died in 1925. She also leaves her mother, Mrs. Ann Quinlan, two brothers, Tom of Worthing SD and James of this place, and one sister, Mary also from Rock Valley, who was with her during her last illness .

Mrs. Carnnell grew to womanhood in this community and availed herself of such advantages of education as the school of this locality afforded. She attended the Academy of Hull IA and the Normal School of Le Mars, and afterward attended the Iowa State Teachers College at Cedar Falls, which fitted her for her chosen profession as that of a teacher where she proved herself very successful and popular as a teacher in Sioux and Lyon Counties. She was known to all for her jovial and kind hearted disposition neve causing any worry to brothers during her ill health. In August 1926 she moved to Cedar Falls so that her son, George Edward, might attend the Iowa State Teachers College.

The funeral took place from the Catholic Church at Rock Valley, December 5, Rev. Father O’Reilly officiation with high mass. The remains were laid to rest by the side of her husband in the St. Mary’s Cemetery at Rock Valley, followed by a large number of friends and relatives. Evidently the high esteem in which she was held by her friends and relatives all of whom joined in extending Condolences to the bereaved dear ones.

The out of town friends and relatives who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. John Cauley, Mr. and Mrs. Matt Solon, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Whivlen and Mrs. Martin Murphy, of Lardhwood, Perle and Frank Crannell of Tekama, Neb., Mr. and Mrs. John Solon, of Junius, S. D., Tom Solon, Winfred, S. D., Mr. and Mrs. John Mc Enroe, of Algona, La Vina Manning of Paullina, Mr. and Mrs. Jake Maun and daughters Gertrude and France of Doon, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Quinlan of Worthing. Mr. and Mrs. Gene Hogan, Mrs. Mary Gacke and family Mrs. Edward Wier of Hull. Mrs. Ray Craig, of Sioux Falls Mrs. Ellen Sullivan and son and Mrs. Robert Sullivan, of Alvord.
