MRS. EVERT DE WIT, SERVICES HELD

Mrs. Evert De Wit, 75, of Sioux Center Hospital following a long illness.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, August 25, 2:00 P.M. in the Calvin Christian Reformed Church at Rock Valley with the Reverend John Engten officiating. Organist, Mrs. Tony Ver Sjeeg accompanied the duet, Art and Jake Kooima during the hymn.

Pallbearers were Robert, Douglas, Dale, Jay, David and Ronald De Wit. Burial was in Valley View Cemetery under the direction of the Porter Funeral Home.

The former Jennie Baker was born on June 30, 1896 to Henry and Annie (Kooima) Bakker in Rock Valley. She married Evert De Wit on May 25, 1919 at Rock Valley. They farmed in the area before moving to Michigan. They moved to Sioux Center recently. Survivors: Widower; seven sons - Henry of Grand Rapids, Missouri, Marvin and Elmer, both of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Floyd of Phoenix, Arizona, John and Donald of Rock Valley, Iowa, and Bernard of Sioux Center, Iowa; four sisters; three brothers; 21 grandchildren.
