Death of Johanna Hop

Johanna Hop, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jake Hop, residing southwest of Rock Valley, passed away at her home last Saturday morning [March 28]. She had been sick for several weeks.

The subject of this sketch was born in Holland in July 1912. She came with her parents to this country a few years ago. She leaves her parents and nine brothers and sisters.

Funeral services were held in the Christian Reformed church in Rock Valley Monday, Rev. J. H. Geerlings having charge of the services. The bereaved family have the sympathy of many friends in their sorrow.

Her death certificate has Johanna Hop, born July 2, 1912 in Holland; parents Jake Hop and Hendicka[Hendricka?] Dibbets; 6 years in the United States; died in Garfield Township near Rock Valley March 28, 1925 at 4:30 a.m. of pulmonary tuberculosis, which she had had for 2 years and 6 months.
