From the Sioux County Index (Hull), March 13, 1925:

Word was received in Hull last week, by an old time friend of the death of Mrs. Cyrus Hollister, one of the pioneers of this vicinity, at her home in Long Beach, California. The lady had attained a ripe old age and died February 28th.

From the Alton Democrat, March 20, 1925, Hull news:

Word was received that Mrs. Cyrus Hollister died in California. Mrs. Hollister was a former resident here and at one time the Hollisters conducted a general merchandise store.

RESEARCH NOTES

1894-1986 editions of the Hull Index include advertisements by "Hollister Bros.," which may have included Cyrus Hollister, for groceries and dry goods. The business seems to have been sold or dissolved by August 1898. News notes in the Index show the C. S. Hollisters moving to Luverne, Minn. in late summer 1901. While living in Hull, Mrs. Hollister was active in the Womens Relief Corps, the Ladies Aid of the Congregational Church, and other aspects of Hull social life.

The 1900 U.S. Census for Lincoln Township (Hull), Iowa has Cyrus Hollister, age 55, a land agent, living with wife Mira (52), son Ernest (31) and "charge" Myrtle Lambertine (15). Mira was born January 1848 in Connecticut. They had been married 32 years and had two children, both living.

In 1910 Cyrus, Mira, and Ernest are living in Jasper, Eden Township, Pipestone County, Minnesota; he has no occupation given. In 1920 Cyrus S. and Mira S. are living in Long Beach.

FindaGrave.com has Mira Sarah Trowbridge Hollister, wife of Civil War veteran Cyrus Silas Hollister, buried in Sunnyside Cemetery, Long Beach. It has her born Jan. 9, 1848 in Poughkeepsie, New York; died Feb. 22, 1925 in Long Beach; father Eleazer Benedict Trowbridge (1818-1889). 4 of her siblings are listed. There is a photo of her headstone.

FindGrave.com shows Cyrus Silas Hollister as born Feb. 26, 1845, died Jan. 31, 1923 in Los Angeles County, also buried in Sunnyside Cemetery. No obituary or death notice was found in the February 1923 issues of the Hull Index.
