From the Hawarden Independent, February 12, 1925:

Death of L. N. Waldorf

L. N. Waldorf of Hudson passed away suddenly last Wednesday morning, Feb. 4th, at his home at Hudson. He was one of the pioneers of Hudson and for twenty-five years he had been in business at that place. He and his son Horace have had charge of the electric light plant and they also have operated a garage. He was taken sick with a sore throat a few days preceding his death but he seemed to be getting better when he took a turn for the worse and died shortly after. He was a member of the fire department of Hudson for a number of years. He was 57 years old and is survived by his wife and two sons, Horace Waldorf of Hudson and Dr. Earl Waldorf of Redfield, S.D. He was a brother-in-law of Wm. Miller of Hawarden. Funeral services were held last Friday from the home.
