From the Alton Democrat, October 25, 1924, Matlock news:

Mrs. Kammlade Sr. who has been making her home with her daughter Mrs. Ernest Kammlade and family passed away Monday afternoon after a short illness due to infirmities of old age.

No additional information was found in nearby newspapers: the Rock Valley Bee (Oct. 24 and 31) or the Boyden Reporter (Oct. 23 and 30).

Her death certificate says Eliza Kammlade, widow of Ernest Kammlade; born February 24, 1840 in Germany; father John Arends, mother's name not known; died in Grant Township, Sioux County, where she had lived 18 years; died October 20, 1924 of senility; buried in Lyon Co. Pres. Cemetery; informant, Henry J. Behrends.
