Mrs. Cornelius Hospers died at her home at Orange City Sunday evening, February 12, 1939. She celebrated her 80th birthday on the 14th of January, and she and Mr. Hospers celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on the 9th of January.

Mrs. Hospers' maiden name was Nellie Galman, and she was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan on January 14, 1859. She came to Sioux County after her marriage in 1879. They had seven children, one of whom died in infancy. She is survived by her husband, Cornelius Hospers who was in business in Orange City for over 60 years.

The children are Mrs. J. C. Gleysteen, Sioux City, Iowa; Mrs. G. J. Slobe, Orange City; Dr. J. H. Hospers, Chicago, Illinois; C. G. Hospers, Pasadena, California; Dr. F. J. Hospers, Chicago, Illinois; and Carl Hospers, Flint, Michigan. She is survived by a brother Dr. J. J. Galman of Hospers. Her only sister, Mrs. D. W. Gilbert died in Kalamazoo, Michigan in 1933.

Mrs. Hospers was a member of the American Reformed Church at Orange City for over 50 years and was a charter member of the Orange City Ramblers. Fuenral services were held Wednesday, February 25, at 1:30 at the home and at 2:00 o'clock at the American Reformed Church, with the Reverend Mr. L. Nattress officiating.

Drs. F.J. and J.H. Hospers of Chicago, Carl Hospers of Flint, Michigan, and Attorney and Mrs. J.C. Gleysteen and son of Sioux City attended the funeral of their mother, Mrs. Cornelius Hospers. Among others who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. George Briggs of Humboldt, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Beatty of Sioux City, Mrs. Kit Paxton of Sioux City and Reverend Mr. and Mrs. A. Rozendal of Maurice.
