Dr. H. J. Vande Waa
Stricken While On Motor Trip South
The many friends of Dr. H. J. Vande Waa of Orange City were shocked to learn of his sudden death Saturday morning at 10 O’clock at St. Joseph MO.

He was stricken with a heart attack two days previous while in route to McAllen Texas with Mrs. Vande Waa and Dr. and Mrs. Edward Fisher. He was taken to a hospital in St. Joseph and his son Dr. Carl Vande Waa flew there from Sioux Falls upon being notified of his father’s illness. For forty years Dr. Vande Waa practiced veterinary medicine in Orange City and was one of the best known men in his profession in this part of the state.

Born at Orange City Nov 6, 1885 on a farm a mile north of town, he attended the public schools and graduated from Orange City High school in 1902. In 1909 he graduated from Iowa State College in veterinary medicine and began his practice in Orange City. Dr. Edward Fisher joined him as a partner in 1921 and Dr. Robert Fisher has practiced with his since Jan 1948. AT the time of his death Jan. 22 he was 63 years and 2 months of age.
