John Hoogendoorn, 71, Rock Valley, passed away February 18 at the Sioux Center Hospital. Funeral services were held February 21 at Porter Funeral Home with Reverend C. Harnick officiating. Burial was in Valley View Cemetery under the direction of Porter Funeral Home.

Mr. Hoogendoorn was born February 11, 1902 in the Netherlands. He married Sadie Van Abbema, December 23, 1925 in Alvord. They farmed in the Lester and Rock Rapids area until retirement.

Survivors are the widow, four sons; six daughters; stepfather, D. A. De Witt, Rock Valley, 37 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.

Arrived in New York on 8 April 1915 sailing from Rotterdam, Netherlands on Ship Noordam.
