A friend passes away

Mrs. Hillebrand Hoogeterp, 85, of Orange City, died December 22 in a Paullina Nursing Home.

Services are at 10:30 a.m. December 24 in the First Reformed Church of Orange City. The Reverend Perry Raak and the Reverend Frank Snuttjer officiate.

Burial will be in Newkirk Cemetery at Newkirk with the Van Etten Funeral Home of Orange City in charge.

Mrs. Hoogeterp, the former Anna De Boer, was born March 18, 1890, in The Netherlands.

She was married to Hillebrand Hoogeterp October 1, 1929, in The Netherlands.

Mr. and Mrs. Hoogeterp came to the United States shortly after they were married. They lived in Newkirk until 1937, when they moved to Orange City.

Survivors include the widower; a daughter, the Reverend Hattie Goldie Duncan of East Dubuque, Illinois; a son, Theo of Sheldon; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Clyde (Wilma) Weaver of Lake Park and Mrs. Herman (Jennie) Buren of Royal; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
