Secretary Carpenter of the Modern Woodmen lodge received a draft for $2000 Monday to pay insurance on the death of our townsman A. B. Ferris. But six weeks have elapsed since the death of the deceased and the organization is certainly deserving of much credit for their promptness in this matter.

The deceased had been a member of the order but a few months previous to his death. The $2000 was paid Mrs. Ferris Tuesday, who feels very grateful to the Benevolent society who not only
so kindly assisted during the sickness of her husband, but remembered her in such substantial
manner,—Ireton Clipper.
