Rites were held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church Friday morning for Mrs. Frank Homan of Milwaukee, following a wake the preceding evening, as requested by Mrs. Homan, at the home of the Misses Hilda and Sylvia Homan.

The Funeral Mass was in charge of Msgr. Reising and pallbearer were nephews, Leonard Homan of Sioux City, Leland Mousel of Remsen, Marcellus Homan of Slayton, Minnesota, Mike and George Nemmers of Bird Island, Minnesota and Carl Homan of Alton.

Mrs. Homan, nee Sophia Schroeder, had been ill since Easter. She was born February 22, 1880, daughter of pioneer residents here, the late Mr. and Mrs. Mike Schroeder. She was married January 31, 1911 to Mr. Homan, who operated the local drug store until the family left for Regan, North Dakota. They moved to Milwaukee about 25 years ago.

Surviving are Mr. Homan, a daughter, Helen who is a registered nurse in California but returned to Milwaukee some months ago to be there for her mother; a son, Vernon of Milwaukee; a sister, Lucy, Mrs. Nick Nemmers of Bird Island, Minnesota; one brother, Nick Schroeder of Fargo, North Dakota; and two grandchildren.

A son, Raymond, was missing in action in W.W. II and was never heard from, along with the crew of the airplane which crashed over Holland. Others who preceded her in death was her parents, three brothers, Peter, Matthew and Michael and one sister, Anna.

Among the many here from away for the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Ben Homan of Grand Forks, North Dakota; Messrs. and Mesdames Charles Homan, Everett, Marcellus and Marvin Homan, Nick De Greef, and Patty Lou Homan, all of Slayton; Mrs. N. Nemmers and son of Bird Island, Minnesota; Mrs. Joe Mousel and Marlene, Dana Hoffman, Mrs. Larry O’Toole, Mrs. Beaufils, Anna Harens, all of Le Mars; Messrs. And Mesdames Leland Mousel, Gene Kieffer, Mrs. Margaret, Arens and Lou Homan of Remsen; Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Homan, Sioux City; a number of relatives and friends from Sioux Falls, Fargo and Regan, besides many other relatives and friends from this vicinity.

Dinner for relatives was held at noon at the O.K. Café.
