Mrs. Teunis Hollander, nee Hattie Wiersma, died at her home three miles west of Middleburg on Wednesday August 12, at 10 o'clock in the morning at the age of 58 years.

Mrs. Hollander was a daughter of the late John Wiersma, a pioneer of this vicinity. On December 4, 1902, she was united in marriage to Teunis Hollander. She leaves to mourn, her husband and 5 children -- Mrs. John Vreeman, and James of Sioux Center, Mrs. Anthony Vander Wilt of Middleburg, John of Ireton, and Harold who is at home. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 6 sisters, and 11 brothers, namely -- Mrs. John De Groot, Mrs. P. Brouwer, Mrs. William Brouwer, John Wiersma, Jacob Wiersma and Joe Wiersma and Gerrit Wiersma of Sheldon; Mrs. M. Schilt of Doon, Henry Fennema of laton, Mrs. William Meyer, Detroit, Michigan, Peter, George, Dewey, Samuel and Pier Wiersma, and Mrs. H. Wobbema, all of Orange City.

Mrs. Hollander attended church services on Sunday but became ill suddenly the following day and two days later she passed on.

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the home and at the Christian Reformed Church of Middleburg, Reverend C. Groot and Reverend J. Schurman officiating. Internment was at the Sioux Center Cemetery.

Her death comes as a terrible shock to family and friends and the passing of a wonderful mother and helpmate leaves a void in the family that can never be filled. The Democrat joins in extending sympathy, together with a host of friends, in extending heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved family and other sorrowing relatives in their irreplaceable loss.
