Following a brief illness in the Orange City Hospital, Mrs. Joe Hoffs, 74, the former Kate Van Zyl, passed away March 26. Funeral services were this Wednesday at Hospers, conducted by the Reverend Richard Groenhout, with burial at the Hospers Cemetery under the direction of the Vander Ploeg Funeral Home of Sioux Center.

She was born at Hospers May 7, 1897 and married January 21, 1920.

Survivors are the widower, Joe Hoffs; daughter Eleanor, Mrs. Arie Brink of Storm Lake, Jolene, Mrs. Robert Hofmeyer, of Hospers, a brother, Cornie of Gresham, Oregon and sisters: Mrs. Lena Wesselink of Sandy, Oregon, and Mrs. A.E. Rackes of Holland, Michigan, also by eight grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
