Joe Hoffs, 87, of Hospers, died suddenly Monday, November 16, at his home in Hospers.

Services were at 10:30 A.M. Thursday in the First Reformed Church at Hospers. The Reverend Carl De Jong officiated. Burial was in the Hospers Cemetery under the direction of Vander Ploeg Funeral Home in Sioux Center. Family visitation was from 7 to 8:30 P.M. Wednesday in the fellowship hall of the church.

Mr. Hoffs was born January 19, 1894, at Alton. He married Kate Van Zyl January 21, 1920 at Hospers. She died March 26, 1972. He was a retired farmer. Mr. Hoffs was a member of the First Reformed Church at Hospers.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Arie (Eleanor) Brink of Storm Lake and Mrs. Robert (Jolene) Hofmeyer of Hospers; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Dena Vande Steeg and Mrs. Wilmene Wierks, both of Hospers.
