Loyal Nelson, 69 dies of heart condition Monday

Loyal Arvid Nelson, 69, familiar figure on Rock Valley streets, died in the Sioux Center hospital Monday of a heart condition. He had been ill for some time although he was able to get about.

Born in Albert Lea. Minn. June 20, 1891 the son of Andrew Nelson and Emma Olson. Mr. Nelson is survived by four sisters. They are Mrs. A. R. Eggleston, Marqueile (formerly of Rock Valley), Mrs. Emma King of Chicago, Mrs. Frank Michael of Detroit and Mrs. Effie Spillois of Sarasota, Fla.

Memorial services are being held today (Thursday) in the Vander Ploeg funeral home at 10:00 a.m. Rev. Marvin Nelson will officiate.
The remains will leave following the ceremony for Mason City, for interment.

He was preceded in death by his parents, (two brothers and a sister).
