Joyce Frances, born July 15, infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William and Clara (Snyder) Hodapp, residing east of Alton, died after an illness of one day with double pneumonia, complicated by whopping cough, Friday.

Funeral services were held at St. Mary’s Church at Alton, the following day, with music by school girls of St. Mary’s Academy and the Very Reverend M.A. Schemel officiating. Interment was at St. Joseph’s Cemetery at Granville where the Reverend Zeno Reising officiated. A cousin of the baby, Vernice Hodapp, was flower girl and pallbearers were a sister, Clara Jean Hodapp, and three cousins of the baby, Alice Mae Ablers, Aleene Schneider and Alice Marie Hodapp.

Among those here for the service from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. Barney Hodapp, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Hodapp, all of Sibley, Mrs. Herman Hodapp and daughter of Sioux City.

Joyce Frances is survived by her sorrowing parents, two brothers and three sisters. The family held hope until the last for her recovery, and the baby’s death was a severe shock. They have the heartfelt sympathy of the community in their great loss.
