Funeral services for Mrs. Ralph Henderson, who passed away at her home at Montevideo, Minnesota, Wednesday, October 10, were held at the Rock River Lutheran Church at Highland, Sunday, October 14, at 2:30 conducted by the Reverend H.J. Glenn, of Sioux accompanied by Miss Christianson all of Sioux Falls. Short services were also held at Montevideo, Minnesota, at Our Savior Lutheran Church conducted by Reverend J.M. Mason of that place. Interment was made in the Highland Cemetery.

The deceased was well and favorably known here, where she spent her girlhood and grew into young womanhood. She was a devoted wife and mother and will sadly missed in the home circle, and by numerous friends as well.

Bertha Marie “Richardson” Henderson, was born September 23rd, 1887, in Polk County, Iowa, and moved with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. M.A. Richardson to Sioux County in the spring of 1888, where she spent most of her life. Mrs. Henderson was baptized in the Lutheran Faith in early childhood at the age of fourteen years and was confirmed and joined the Rock River Lutheran Church at Highland, Iowa. On February 26th, 1914, she was united in marriage to Ralph Henderson of Hawarden, at her parents home in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and with her husband moved to a farm near Hawarden. To this union was born four children: Melvin Ralph, 12 years old, Lyle Harlen, 10 years, Lois Lorraine, 9 years, and Robert who died in infancy. The family moved to Monteviedo, Minnesota, in the spring of 1922 where Mrs. Henderson passed away at the age of 41 years, and 17 days.

Besides the sorrowing husband and three children she is survived by her aged father and mother, four sisters and six brothers. The six brothers acted as pallbearers.
